New Orleans is renowned for Bourbon Street, jazz, and beignets, but Nobody would suggest it should be known for high-quality rifle slings. Dissatisfied with the market’s offerings, NOLA Nobody Designs took matters into their own hands, purchasing a sewing machine and launching a small business to create affordable, functional, and attractive rifle slings.

I reached out to Nobody Designs on X (@Nobody_Designs) to test one of their slings after my previous go-to manufacturer (who shall remain nameless) left me in a bind. They graciously agreed to participate in our latest giveaway, sending me a Multicam Tropic Sentinel Quick Adjust Sling to review, along with a Multicam Tropic Sling Manager for the promotion and this review.

Slings, much like grips, are highly subjective firearm accessories. Preferences vary widely in brand, features, style, and hardware. Initially, the specs of the Sentinel Quick Adjust Sling raised some concerns. The material appeared thinner than what I was accustomed to, and the webbing at the attachment points was listed as 1 inch wide. In my experience, quick-adjust slings made from thin 1-inch webbing often underperformed. However, my concerns were quickly dispelled once I attached some Damage Industries QD hardware and mounted the sling on a carbine. This sling is exceptionally well-designed and well-crafted.

The Sentinel Quick Adjust Sling’s webbing strikes an ideal balance: stiff yet flexible, thin yet comfortable. The 1-inch webbing at the attachment and adjustment points minimizes hardware size and eliminates excess material. Meanwhile, the 1.5-inch webbing in the main section offers greater comfort than standard 1-inch or 1.25-inch slings without the bulk of a padded sling. The stitching is clean and precise, with a discreet Nobody Designs logo tag subtly incorporated.

The sling features polymer hardware for the slides and 1-to-1.5-inch webbing connectors. For quick adjustments, Nobody Designs opted for a classic all-metal cam buckle, which provides fast, resistance-free operation. I used a small piece of provided paracord to loop into the pull-tab, adding extra grip for adjustments.

Additionally, the sling includes elastic sleeves to manage excess material near the attachment points. In the past, I’ve relied on tape or rubber “Ranger bands” for this purpose, so I found this standard feature to be a thoughtful and practical addition.

The price? Just $40. For an American-made, small-business-crafted sling made from Berry-compliant materials and available in a half-dozen popular colors and patterns, this is a steal. It’s $20–$30 less than many competitors, which often lack the same level of features. Nobody Designs set out to deliver “cool guy” kit at an affordable price, and they’ve succeeded impressively.
In summary, the Sentinel Quick Adjust Sling is a well-thought-out, feature-rich product that outperforms many big-name brands while costing less. By choosing this sling, customers support a Louisiana craftsman and get exceptional value.
